产品介绍 Voltage gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. KCNH3 is a pore forming (alpha) subunit of voltage-gated potassium channel. It elicits an outward current with fast inactivation.

Subunit:
The potassium channel is probably composed of a homo- or heterotetrameric complex of pore-forming alpha subunits that can associate with modulating beta subunits.

Subcellular Location:
Membrane; Multipass membrane protein.

Tissue Specificity:
Detected only in brain, in particular in the telencephalon. Detected in the cerebral cortex, occipital pole, frontal and temporal lobe, putamen, amygdala, hippocampus and caudate nucleus.

Similarity:
Contains 1 cyclic nucleotide-binding domain.
Contains 1 PAC (PAS-associated C-terminal) domain.
