These forkhead transcription factors may play a role in maintenance and survival of developing and adult neurons. Function: Transcriptional activator. Subcellular Location: Cytoplasmic and Nuclear. When phosphorylated, translocated from nucleus to cytoplasm. High nuclear localization after stimulation with growth factors. Post-translational modifications: Phosphorylation of Ser-184 is be important in regulating the transacriptional activity. Similarity: Contains 1 fork-head DNA-binding domain.
